JEE Main 2026 syllabus has seen no significant changes made by the NTA compared to previous years.

JEE Main 2026 syllabus will have 3 major sections – Maths, Physics, and Chemistry.

The JEE Main 2026 syllabus was released on October 31, 2025, alongside the JEE Main 2026 notification. 

JEE Main 2026 exam pattern for BE/BTech will have 75 questions in total, divided into 25 questions (20 MCQs and 5 Numerical), compared to 90 questions in the year 2024. The optional numerical questions are reduced to 5 from 10. All candidates must attend all 5 numerical questions without any option.

  • Chemistry: The "Group 13 to Group 17 Elements" and "Group 18 Elements" chapters have been separated from the "P Block Elements" chapter. The chapters of "Environmental Chemistry" and "Coordination Compounds" chapters have been merged into one.
  • Mathematics: "Sets and Relations" and "Functions" are the two chapters that make up the "Sets, Relations, and Functions" chapter. The "Linear Programming" and "Vectors and Three-Dimensional Geometry" chapters have been combined into one chapter.
